Video Camera
Transfer to Blu-ray or DVD
This service is for those who wish to have HD-high definition or SD-standard definition video transferred to Blu-ray disc or DVD.

IN SOME CASES, transferring all of your HD camera videos to disc may not be the most practical or affordable solution. Depending on recording quality, some cameras can hold more than 24 hours of video, which could fill numerous discs and be very costly. However, creating a *Blu-ray or DVD disc of a vacation or special event is a high quality and convenient way of sharing with family and friends.

*PLEASE NOTE: To play and view high definition (HD) Blu-ray or AVCHD discs, you must have a Blu-ray disc player connected to an HD TV. Blu-ray or AVCHD discs will not play in a regular DVD player.
If you don't have a Blu-ray player and HD TV, we can convert your HD videos to SD, and transfer them to a regular DVD. The HD files can be stored for future use.

HD and SD Formats:

  • Camera internal hard drive.(Vary in capacity from 10 GB to 200 GB or more) Depending on recording quality, duration from a few minutes to 24 hr or more.
  • SD/Flash/Memory Card. (Vary in capacity from 2 GB to 32 GB or more) Depending on recording quality, duration from a few minutes to 12 hr or more.
  • HDV (miniDV-type) tapes.(Normally 60 or 120 min. if recorded in LP mode)
  1. **Copy video files to an external storage drive.(You provide)
  2. Burn all or selected HD video files to high definition *Blu-ray or AVCHD disc.
  3. Convert all or selected HD video files to SD and put on a regular DVD.
  4. Convert all or selected HD videos to SD and put on a *Blu-ray disc or AVCHD disc.
Note: A 25 GB Blu-ray disc will hold about 10+ hr of good quality SD video. A regular DVD holds less than 2.5 hr.
  5. Transfer all of your SD video files to DVD or *Blu-ray disc.
You may need to leave your camera with us, as it may take considerable time to offload your video files depending on the disc size. Please remember to bring the power cord and any camera-specific cables.

ADD will not delete the video files from your camera, but you will eventually need to remove them to make room for new videos. If your Blu-ray disc or DVD is lost or damaged, the videos are lost. Therefore, we recommend that you order spare copies of your disc(s), and/or store your camera's original video files on a disc drive. ADD can copy these files to your drive during the transfer process.
